If you’re like me you like some sweets..⁣

Having a sweet tooth is not a bad thing. You should be able to incorporate them from time to time.⁣

If you find yourself craving sweets all day I strongly urge you to look at what you’re eating for breakfast first.⁣⁣⁣day.⁣⁣sugar rollercoaster. ⁣

Or maybe sugary coffee??⁣ ⁣ The traditional American breakfast being cereals, pancakes, toast, donuts - would make anyone want sugar the rest of the day.⁣ ⁣ What happens when you eat sugar and carbs in the morning all comes down to a blood sugar rollercoaster. ⁣ ⁣ When you eat these foods you will spike your blood sugar immediately which will then cause a crash effect shortly after. When your blood sugar drops you will then crave more of those things because your body needs a pick-me-up.

This will happen alllll day. ⁣ ⁣ Try to avoid sugary foods first thing in the morning and instead opt for high protein & high healthy fat options. This could look like a piece of Ezekiel toast with avocado and deli turkey instead of white toast with jelly. Or maybe you love oatmeal in the morning… add some almond butter and egg whites to it.⁣ ⁣ You don’t have to skip all carbs in the morning Boom. Blog by @danielle_marie_nutrition
